What is Molluscum Contagiosum?

Molluscum contagiosum is a common viral infection of the skin that is spread through skin-to-skin contact with an infected individual. While this condition develops most often in children, adults are also at risk. The molluscum contagiosum virus usually manifests itself in the form of firm, round bumps that can be as small as the head of a pin or as large as the eraser on a pencil.
