Facial Rejuvenation with Microneedling

microneedling

If you haven’t heard of microneedling, let’s start there. Microneedling is one of the most popular and least invasive methods of skin rejuvenation available. The concept of microneedling has been around for centuries, though techniques have been ever changing and the devices available now result in an easy, safe, fast, and very effective procedure.

All microneedling works in a similar way: tiny needles penetrate your skin’s surface to precise depths to stimulate fast healing of facial blemishes or scars, and promote your skin’s natural collagen repair processes, stimulating collagen and elastin production to naturally make your skin look smoother and more youthful.

SkinPen®

Here at Dermatology and Skin Cancer Center in Windermere, Florida, we use the SkinPen® method of microneedling. Our licensed medical esthetician, Alli Hare, is trained and experienced in the procedure, and also is a star at helping our Orlando-area patients decide on just the right microneedling treatments and number of sessions for their individual skin care issues.

SkinPen® helps to heal both aging and damaged skin, with no invasive techniques, and little to no downtime away from your busy life. It does this by creating precise microchannels in the skin, allowing our trained staff to control the stimulation of collagen, a process called collagen induction therapy, in the deeper dermal layers. As the SkinPen® moves over areas to be treated, microneedles hit specific depths that are calibrated based on your skin needs. This will stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, which, in time, will create a more even skin tone and texture and will result in more plump skin.

Facial Microneedling

Microneedling is most popularly used on the face, as it provides a gentle, subtle and natural improvement over time after the treatment. It’s also safe for use on the neck and chest. It can help address visible signs of aging, uneven skin tone and texture, and even acne scarring. Afterward, there is very little downtime, although skin flushing or redness, on the level of a mild sunburn, is the most common side effect, and proper care of the treated areas is vital to help the treatment work well.

We’ll work with your schedule to create a regimen for your microneedling treatments in the time frame that’s best for you, and will provide individual consultation and skin care regimens before and after the procedure to make sure that you have the best results possible. Most patients find that more than one session is necessary for their desired results, which Alli can help you determine.
